I seldom venture beyond the heritage core of Georgetown when I'm in Penang but the Tanjong Tokong seafront looks like a fun place to be to get closer to the seaviews this side of the Penang island. This new hotel offers a decent stopover for a few casual nights away from the touristy bustle.
