Among the many charming places that are a convenient hour-long drive away from the city, Bentong comes up pretty high on my list of heritage towns that are just buzzing with local activities. One may be tempted to detour to some other more touristy spots in the vicinity, but this day trip was all about grounded, honest, small-town vibes around kopitiams and wet markets and small talks with locals.
