TRAVEL • OCT 2018 • MOROCCO
Morocco, the gateway to Africa, has been described in many beautiful ways, it's dizzying array of landscapes can take a drastic turn from epic snow-capped mountain ranges to sweeping deserts in a matter of a few hours of road trip. It's my first venture into this new continent, and while I managed to experience its many captivating sights throughout the 2-week trip, I'm not sure if I would agree it was personally fulfilling for me as a street photographer. Throughout my years of exploring the world, I have not encountered as bad a camera-phobic community as the Moroccans. The general reaction to the sight of a camera would range from the mild closing of the faces, or a stern 'no photo' warning, to the more drastic act of requesting for the photos to be deleted. I guess explorers who are more into landscapes or taking their own selfies would fare better. For me, I would rather explore a part of the world where I could explore the street with my camera in peace.
