My love for the urban heritage setting of Penang may be at it again, but what better place to try and uncover more of this charming blend outside of Malaysia than Penang's twin city Xiamen. Other than the familiar tropical summer weather that greeted us, we were definitely made more at home with the sound of Hokkien language being spoken widely, and the sights of European-inspired architecture amidst the sometimes chaotic blend of the typical chinese street scenes. I had the most fun exploring the labyrinthine laneways of the old city center just surrounding the ZhongShan Road.
