The glory of yesteryear lives on in Lai Chun Yuen, where the gentle sighs and piercing cries of Chinese opera singers linger in the air, its atmospheric grand central hall and darkened corridors lay quiet in stark contrast to the surrounding bustle that is Chinatown. This is most probably the most under-rated quaint stays in Singapore. Do excuse the smallish rooms though.
